Happy Thanksgiving 🍁 🦃 🍽 from the twins!

It’s been a long time since I’ve had a Thanksgiving that reminded me of home. At best, our overseas Thanksgiving dinners have been very hearty tries at mimicking the “real” thing but this one didn’t feel like an imitation.

I think there were three main reasons:

1. We were with people who’ve taken us in as a family. Everyone is in different stages of life (usually we’re with people our age) so it felt like we were surrounded by grandparents, aunt, uncles, cousins, etc.
2. The food was amazing and there was plenty of it!
3. We got an Airbnb nearby so we could come back the next morning for breakfast, then leftovers and board games. We even managed to watch highlights from a few American football games!

The girls had a fantastic time! Squirt loved brisket (who knew?!) and Squish was eating my spinach dip by the spoonful.

I made three homemade dips for appetizers and baked dinner rolls for the first time (other than a practice run at home). They got a little dark on top (the Airbnb oven was hotter than mine), but the rolls turned out pretty good!

I failed at photos ... too busy keeping babies out from underfoot. But we did get a few pics beforehand in new matching dresses from Grandma ❤️

Even though the day started out rough, by the time we went to bed, Matt and I felt like we had a lot to be thankful for.

And we do. We’ve been blessed with beautiful daughters, a home, jobs, family in the States who love us, friends who’ve welcomed us into their home, and opportunities to benefit our community. We’re very thankful for all that God has given us and hope you and yours had much to be thankful for too!
