Update – Water Leak
The water leak has now been located. Public Works and OCWA employees should have the water service back within one hour, except for properties located:
• between 3rd and 9th Street, and
• South of Front Street (in the East end of town).
It is very important to boil the water, until further notice.
Residents of Hearst woke up Wednesday morning without drinking water. The Public Works Department in the small community in northeastern Ontario dispatched a team to find the source of the problem.
The lack of water forced the closure of all schools and the cancellation of school transportation.
According to Mayor Roger Sigouin, this is a water leak that began a few days ago, but this time affects the entire municipality.

According to the Deputy Mayor of Hearst, Conrad Morin, the state of emergency has been declared to unlock possible funds when needed
