Spiritual teachings of the bible: "Doing the will of God from your heart", Ephesians 6:6

What counts are not the things we do to pretend but the things we do from the heart:"Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.", Ephesians 6:6.
The Old Testament teaches us that God does not judge appearances but what proceeds from the heart: "A person may think their own ways are right, but the LORD weighs the heart", Proverbs 21:2; and also: "I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.", Jeremiah 17:10.
Also, Jesus explains to us that the true intentions come from the heart of man: "What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person's heart, that evil thoughts come — sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.", Mark 7:20-22

Jesus with this is explaining something fundamental to us because no matter how much we try to mask our actions, sooner or later we have a retribution depending on how we look for a treasure in the world or a treasure in heaven: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.", Matthew 6:19-21.
Jesus calls us to repentance, to leave the anxieties that come from accumulating money, towards a purified heart towards God, because ultimately, if we have negative thoughts we will attract negative things, and if we have positive thoughts we bring positive things. In the heart lies the ability to change things.
