New plan

in heat •  7 years ago

I just finished on the phone with Burden Propane who will be hooking up our new system on the 6th of December. Which we are definetly looking forward to.

I miss heat.

I also had a discussion with Chilliwack Electric and they're coming out today as an emergency look at our system.

UPDATE: before I posted this he showed up and we have power now in all the rooms. Only cost 107 for the call and we're all happy.

What was wrong in the end with the electrical? (Sorry. But you guys have been on my mind.)

About ten years ago we had a backup system put in so when the power went out we could hook up a portable generator.

This was explained to me today... the guy who set it up was supposed to set up a separate line to the secondary fuse box system. The secondary system is to set up to generators in the event of massive power failure.
Instead though he saved himself 200 bucks by wiring into the main system... and charged us.

So when the fuses blew, they didn't blow on the system I had access to. The electrocution discovered it when he drilled open the wall and saw another line going out to the other box.

He says it'll have to be fixed eventually, but I now have access to both boxes.

Oh good grief! Shyster contractors. Everyone hates them - probably their mothers, too.

I'm glad you got some resolution finally. I hear it gets cold up there in them parts this time of year.
