God is with us: Who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ

The epistle to the Ephesians begins with a hymn of thanksgiving for the saving action of Jesus, the Father chooses us from eternity to receive spiritual goods and thus be able to achieve the holiness of his love:
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the Ones he loves.", Ephesians 1:3-6.

Paul explains to us that there is a predestination, God exists from an eternal present, God is immutable, that is, not subject to change, since all change is like a death, Thomas Aquinas tells us. God's eternal providence predestines us toward his love (Agape); the progressive, uplifting, benevolent love and it is in this that the theological virtue of hope consists, the realization of eternal life, the contemplative life: "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.", John 4:24.
The meaning of the Christian life is to reach the perfection of Jesus ("Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect", Matthew 5:48), the spiritual maturity and integrity: "Till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.", Ephesians 4:13.
And for this we need the spiritual goods that he promises us with his grace to be holy: "He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.", Ephesians 1:8.
