The ancient language of ivrit ( עברית ) Genesis 1 - Part 4

in hebrew •  7 years ago  (edited)

The full study is now on line covering

the Alef - Beyt in detail @hebrew on Steemit.com
. The vowels are marked in this bible and are designed to help avoid confusion on what a word is and how it is pronounced, as if there is not already enough of that in the interpretations globally. In modern spoken Hebrew, only children need the niqqud until they have the pronunciation memorized.

day two

This is a very late start to my Shabbat reading because I still have a sore throat and congestion. The King has been gracious to me today, and I was able to record a reading in only two takes.

Some update caused DTube to fail to transition from video upload to IPFS - video plays after drag-n-drop and the snap gets there. Do all the work and find that the video never uploaded. Trying via Andriod. Second and third tries from phone. Invalid permalink? I just want to teach my Hebrew class :/

Last reading we left off with creation, the end of day one.

Today's video covers day two. Note that we see the word Aleph-Shin-Resh (asher) a couple of times. It can means "that" and "which" as we read. It can also have other interpretations, that which, it that, he who, she who, etc. we will see them as we read on but these only help us to understand how we would say the phrase in English. The best path to understanding is to move from interpreting to understanding each word in Hebrew.

As we saw when we studied Tav, I had mentioned the word Alef Tav et in Hebrew. There is no interpretation for it in English. There is in Spanish. It is part of the language letting us know what is coming next. When you see et note that the next word will be the person, place or thing that was impacted by the previous action.

Another note:

In this reading the Almighty took the first ha'shamayim, the one he created just before ha'erets, in the first sentence of the book. He separated them the waters above from those below and gave each massive body of water a name.

Will you please do the right thing and return the Steem to him?

Thank you for taking the burden of my mind and sending back the funds.

Seeing you do such a big humble thing is great. You for sure will never get stuck for money ever in life. Anyways you seem be the master of hebrew. Its so great to see people educating other about hebrew language.

tnx for upvote

I have read and watched your videos, hopefully you get well soon, actually I want to ask you many questions, but before I explain my point openly, I do not dare to do that, I am afraid there will be a misunderstanding and also things I do not want to happen in the future that will have a bad impact on me

I've asked you for permission in your past post, to make an article by mentioning your name, but I have not received your permission, many thanks

I have been sick and missed class last week. I will go back and read more of my comments section.

yes, I want you to also read my past comments, and also I hope your health to be very good from before and also for the future, always keep our health is the best thing, because health is the key of all success

great work sir

many thanks my friend

Finally hearing you speaking our beautiful language. Your reading skills are great!

כל הכבוד

I am trying to keep it slow because hearing Hebrew slowly read was the hardest thing to find when I was first learning.

Well this is something different on Steemit.com

Looks really complicated.

The language is complicated as learning any language would be. My @hebrew blog has all the letters and symbolism from the very first - scroll down my home page to see them. The joy is in the adventure!

I am looking at them now. When I was young they said Latin was the only true word of God.

agree with you sir

I believe that the largest church established at the time made laws or decrees in order to keep the Christian bible from being translated, so that it could be understood in all languages. I will be teaching many examples that show the Greek and Latin that are said to be the original languages of the holy writings were actually translated from Hebrew.

Once you are caught up on the lessons you will see those lessons.

I am very glad to learn a part of this ancient and beautiful language again, like Hebrew! Thank you for your lessons @hebrew

I am very worried about your health.I pray that you recover early.Your post is full of something new to learn. Thanks for such nice post.@upvoted and resteemed.

Good to see you this week. Going to listen now. ... continued prayers for your return to good health. Thanks for the explanation of “Asher”

In English we can omit "that" in most sentences. In Spanish, "que" would be the equivalent, but you cannot leave it out or the sentence loses its meaning.

This is the Asher in I am that I am. .... without the Asher it would be I am I am.

Soy lo que soy.... Soy yo soy

It is so good to hear your @hebrew voice again. Listening to the IPFS version since I can never get Dtube to work on my device.

Can you tell me how we will write I love you in @hebrew?

Love in Hebrew is Ahavah, but as in other languages it changes depending on who loves (who or what)

I is Ani - You is ot-kha (if the person being spoken to is male)
I is Ani - You is ot-akh (if the person being spoken to is female)

But you cannot just say "ani ahavah otkha"
The verb love changes depending on who is loving and to whom they are loving (to a man or woman)

I am a man and I love my wife - so I will say: Ani oh-hev ot-akh
I will not write them all here

The complexity is there, but children understand as they use the language with parents and siblings. So, it is able to be achieved.

(I would love to see the Americans try to fit their 32 genders into Spanish or Hebrew)

Awww thankyou so much for such great answer.

excellent as it has advanced in followers and content. already the video is a huge help in this learning process, resteemed @hebrew

@hebrew, I watch your Dtube video and it would best covering video. Very best for understand easily. Absolutely You're a great teacher for Ivrit language.
Thanks for all of your kind assistance.

I really wanted a screen recorder that would allow me to move my mouse to show how to read in Hebrew. I got the screen recorder but it does not capture the mouse. I hope to find a better way to read and follow with a pointer - this is the custom in Hebrew.

Very educative article dear friend , I will be very thankful if you delegate me some little SP.
Shabat shalom

I don't have the first idea how to delegate power. I see sites that can let me do it but I am not willing to allow my active keys to be used everywhere on line. Worse - some ask for the owner private key which is exactly like handing someone your debit card with the PIN.

I think through steemit connect anyone can do it. And no need personal key, I think it need only posting key which is different from our personal key. By the way no worry if you not have knowledge about it. Plz don't mind dear .

  ·  6 years ago (edited)

Hebrew if you use steemplus add-on to your google chrome you can delegate from your wallet.
You can also do it on minnobooster.com and smartsteem.com. They never ask for your master key only posting and active key. Both are in your wallet under permissions.

Never give anyone your owner key.

Such a nice post. Its always helps me to learn something new.Sabath reading is always makes you feel good I guess.I wish your good health. Thanks for sharing.@upvote and resteem

I'm sorry to hear that you're still not feeling well. Is it just a bad cold?

I'm still not totally getting it, but at least we have the English version, right? :)

There is no way to "totally get it" and I have read several English versions cover to cover. It's like any rabbit hole, the more you know the more there is to know. More that way in Hebrew. This is my adventure too.

Isn't it funny how the more we learn, the more we realize what we don't know? I miss being 18. I knew everything there was to know. Since then, I've learned a lot, but I've also learned there's a lot that I'm missing. My worldview pie has expanded. It's good. I think that's how we can tell that we're growing.

I was waiting for your tutorial sir... Thanks for this this tutorial... amazingly describe...👍 i am waiting for the 5th... ☺

I have perused and viewed your recordings, ideally you get well soon, really I need to put forth numerous inquiries, however before I clarify my point straightforwardly, I don't set out to do that, I am apprehensive there will be a misconception and furthermore things I would prefer not to occur later on that will badly affect me.

'- בית בפירוט @ hebrew on Steemit.com.

Nicely done a good video for the language learning exciting this gets when you explain everything so nicely
