Genesis 14:10-14

There was a battle in Siddim and the battle ground was strewn with lots of - lots of- pits of tar like substance. When things are mentioned twice in Hebrew, emphasis is warranted. This is a picture of the kind of bitumen that their men fell into in that battle. The battle was won and all the possessions of the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah were taken.

We see the word "Hebrew" for the first time in these verses. It refers to Abram the Hebrew or עברי
-see below.
