The blood fluke

in hede-io •  6 years ago

The blood fluke is a flatworm parasite in man and it is quite small in size. It is about 1 to 2cm long and dwells in the blood vessels. It's presence causes the disease known as BILHARZIA or SCHLISTOSOMIASIS, which is widespread in the tropics including West Africa.
It can be very fatal if it is not treated but one good thing is that the human body passes out the eggs of the blood fluke so that it doesn't multiply. It can be contacted when wading through infested water and to eliminate such disease, a doctor's assistance and expertise is highly required and one should abstain from such water for prevention.
