başlangıç şarkısı "akdeniz akşamları" olan telli enstrüman.

Gövdesi ahşaptan yapılan, perdeli, altı telli bir batı çalgısıdır. Akustik, elektro, bas, perdesiz gitar gibi çeşitleri vardır.

Gitarın fiziksel olarak sap, köprü, eşik gibi bölümlerden oluşur.
