The Pentagon maintains that Beijing is training to attack US targets and has expanded its operational areas of bombing, especially in critical maritime regions
The enmities of Trump and his continuous threats to commercial relations in the world are no child's play. The collateral effect of their trade war with various countries could go far beyond words, much earlier than expected. And China could be the first to react. This is evidenced by a report presented by the Pentagon, at the request of the US Congress, which details the Chinese military development during the past year. This unpublished report by the US Department of Defense reveals details of how China would be actively developing its fleet of long-range bombers and, on the other hand, training its pilots for missions to the United States. "Over the past three years, the Chinese People's Liberation Army has rapidly expanded its operational areas of water bombers, gaining experience in critical maritime regions and probably training for attacks against US targets and allies," the Pentagon report reveals.
On the other hand, China could also be looking for a nuclear capability in these long-range bombers since, according to the report, the Chinese air force has been resigned to a nuclear mission. This fact could mean the deployment and integration of bombers with atomic capacity, for the first time, would provide China with a nuclear triad of delivery systems scattered over land, sea and air »
On the other hand, the low profile of the country has allowed China to develop other competencies of which there was little evidence so far. Kinetic missiles, terrestrial lasers and space robots in orbit could allow Beijing authorities to expand their space surveillance capabilities to monitor objects around the world and in space, as well as allow counter-space actions, the report reveals.
