The Reason Roger Federer Isn't playing the French Open in 2017.

Today Roger Federer announced that he will not play in the French Open this year.

Am I Surprised? Not really. The video below shows Roger Federer only 1 week ago talking about how he'll play the French Open in 2017. What has changed from last week until now?


I present to you Rafael Nadal my friends. Just yesterday Nadal won His 5th Madrid title beating Dominic Thiem 7-6 (10-8) 6-4 . Nadal's Madrid title was on the heels of a 10th Barcelona title he claimed back on April 30th, and his 10th Monte Carlo title on April 23rd.

I'm sure with the way Nadal is playing, Roger feels like it would essentially be useless to enter the French Open. Federer is saving himself for the grass and hard court season for the rest of 2017. Do you think Roger has another Wimbledon or U.S. Open title left in him?
