How come when I up vote something sometimes I will watch the reward actually drop lower?

I just voted something up at 390 and once it finished loading my vote the total dropped to 387. Can someone explain this to me?

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

    The price of Steem is dropping so rewards are dropping. You don't have enough SP to affect the reward. It's a coincidence.
