Help: I can't get my Ethereum rig to work!steemCreated with Sketch.

Hoping some Ethereum mining experts catch a whiff of this post so I can get back to mining again.

Previously, I was using an R7 370 to mine just a small amount of ETH. I decided recently to pick up an RX570 since I plan on using that card in the future anyway, and thought it would help boost my efforts a bit... unfortunately my whole "operation" has been sidelined since Tuesday.

At this point, I don't know what to do.

I've upgraded from Ubuntu 14.04 to Ubuntu 16.04 (I guess it's not really an upgrade if it isn't working) because I read that it was necessary for the AMDGPU-PRO drivers, which is needed for the RX500 series. So, I installed the AMDGPU-PRO driver 17.10, then realized that it won't work with qtminer, which was what I was using before. I read that I needed to use genoil's ethminer, so I installed that as well (1.1.9).

I've searched everywhere and can't find a solution to my problem. Here is the jist of what's going on...

As of now, when I try to run ethminer, this is the output I get:

[OPENCL]:Found suitable OpenCL device [Ellesmere] with 4266250240 bytes of GPU memory
 ℹ 22:21:15|stratum Connecting to stratum server us1.ethermine.org:4444

m 22:21:19|ethminer Waiting for work package...

It's constantly "waiting for work package" and it is always rejecting them! When I run ethminer -M -G, it tells me:

  ℹ 19:27:13|GPU0 Initialising miner...

At this point, I just don't know what to do... I feel like I'm missing something stupid and I just can't pinpoint what it is. I've missed out on two days of mining and it's killing me to get this thing set up. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!

It's backed by Bill Gates, no wonder.

And an entire alliance. Take your propaganda elsewhere.

Relax, it's just a joke.
Plus, Ethereum was hacked once. Fact, not propaganda.

Ethereum itself wasn't hacked, the DAO was though. Hah, close one though.
