This wil be my first post, I created a account because i very curious about steemit.
I probably have to read the white paper first before starting to ask questions. But if someone is reading this please let me know if you can tell where the blockchain part in this idea is? Can I mine or forge steem? What powers this blockchain? Do i need download software?

I guess i will start reading the white paper as soon as i can. but a short version would nice.
