Are there really people out there that walk by someone begging for help and not even offer help of any kind? I recently watched a few social experiment videos about someone who was posing as a homeless person just to show the cold heartedness that walks among us . There were several that walked by and kept their nose up in the air, some just simply looked and looked away quickly, a few actually came over and offered some sort of contribution. Could you imagine being in a situation where the only thing you can do is sit on the street and be judged by many and helped by very very few? I could not even try to imagine how these people feel. They may be having a rough time and need all the help they can get but they are still human. It does not matter if they have nothing and you have the world in the palm of your hand you are not better than that person. I was always taught if you have more than you need you help those that do not have it. You do it out of kindness and because it is right. You do not do it for wrong reasons like expecting a reward for it or wanting a payback some how. I try my best to teach my children this way. Help those who need your help.

I can never make myself understand the way people are when it comes to helping another. There are always those so quick to judge. The famous comments I hear a lot in my hometown are " I bet they are faking it." I bet they are just going to buy drugs or alcohol." "He/She is probably just a junkie." " It is not my place to hand out money. They need to get a job." I am sure there are plenty more excuses or rude comments made by people that just simply do not have the heart to help another but can not admit they are that selfish. It is much easier to blame it on another so they can sleep better at night.

I went on vacation a couple years ago and passed by a gentleman asleep on the bench near the ocean. I walked by once unsure if he needed help. I stopped a few steps from him and asked my fiance if he thought the man was homeless. I pulled money out and had him take the money back to the gentleman no questions ask. He thanked us several times and we let him know we all need help sometimes. It does not take much to lend a hand out and help another stand back up. Although a lot of us would rather keep kicking while they are down. I can not handle thinking so many go hungry and cold. It bothers me more than words can explain. I could not imagine the emotional side of having to stand and beg. Feeling like a failure and as if no one cares.

One day while riding around with my fiance and children, who were 9,10,and 3 at the time, we had drove by a man standing in the freezing cold rain without a jacket on. He had a sign held up about being hungry. The two older children asked us if we could go get the man something to eat and buy him a coat. i almost cried. I knew then I had taught them the right thing. I knew then I taught them to spread the love. We went back to a close by fast food place and took him a meal an gave him a coat. The children paid for the meal with their own money and even ask to give him the rest of their money because he needed it more than they needed it. Again I was close to being in tears. Pass being kind on to your children. Teach them to help and not walk passed those who need a little support. love can easily be taught just as well as hate. To make the world a better place we need to teach and pass along kindness. It does make all the difference.

I would rather give what I can to someone else and do without fancy wants. It is just hard for me to understand how quick one can be to walk right passed someone claiming to be hungry and do nothing to help. I wish everyone had a heart as big as mine. A pure understanding heart that has open arms for all those in need.

There are plenty of ways to help the homeless and needy families. Donate to food charities, donate clothing to local shelters, donate personal hygiene items, adopt children from the angel trees at christmas, buy holiday dinner for a family less fortunate, actually give someone a few dollars holding signs begging for help Etc. None of these things would put you in any kind of harm or a financial crisis. Think of the hearts you would touch. The smiles you helped give someone. The hope you helped them see. The love you made them feel. Do not walk passed a homeless person judging them for one day you may be in their shoes. You never know what tomorrow brings. Would you want to be the one judged and people assume you just want drugs or alcohol? Think about this the next time you walk or drive passed someone holding a help sign. That could be you...

To answer my question at the start of this blog. Yes there are people who will walk or drive right passed a person begging not even making time to ask if they can help them. It is not your place to judge anyone at all maybe some really could not help and did not have the financial means themselves. I do not know. I just pray the world becomes a better place where people do not have to go hungry and homeless. I try to make a difference you can too.

I am going to share a link that shows a social experiment where a child is standing in the cold. The only person that helps him is someone that barely has it to help. It breaks my heart. I do not think it will post the actual video but below is the link please watch.....

Good post! Some of it is due to brainwashing, people are conditionned to fear other that are not "normal" to society standards. Some also due to the materialistic world , everything is about ME right

Thank you for reading my post. It is sad. I wish more than anything people would get that "it is all about me." attitude out of their head. I have hit rock bottom before. Not this bad but I know what it is like to be on that needing end. Even in my darkest hour i tried to still keep it together thinking someone needs the help more than I do. I just can not understand the levels of selfishness in the world.

I hope there will be a big shift in consciousness, steemit give me hope that we can reach to those people and tell them what really matters in life.

That is my hope. To try reach as many as I can. Get them to help and some how let the ones needing the help whether it be emotionally or financially know that there are people who care.

I followed you friend, we have same vision :)

Lately I have been giving away more money to people on the street. I never used to do this under the assumption that they would just buy drugs with it. That's until I realised.....that's what i do! (in the form of beer and wine). And so i stopped judging and hope that 2 euro here and there can bring some happyness in somebody's else life.

Exactly. Thanks for commenting maybe some how we can make a difference.

You cannot just assume what that coin you give away represent for them.

That is right. The money you give them could be what they needed to get something to eat, or help get a home, maybe they did go get beer. It is not your place to judge them. I hope we can make a difference and keep passing along kindness. Thanks for commenting.
