Right now, I'm willing to give a rare opportunity to five of my subscribers and/or followers. We are working on another book release and just for fun I thought we might try crowdsourcing the editing. The book is pretty much done, but getting a couple of extra eyes on the text to scan for misspellings, sentence structure, and grammaticals is always a good idea.
Would you like to invest some of your time and talent into our family? If you'd like to receive a proof copy of our latest book project "Why We Homestead" in the mail and spend the next couple of months checking it over, this just might be an excellent opportunity for you.
I'll only be choosing five "winners" so please let me know if you are interested and feel free to share some sentences about why you think you'd be a good fit for this gig. Those selected will be tasked with the objective of attempting to edit this book between now and the end of February, so that we can hopefully release it sometime in March. Aren't random projects much better than alcohol for a coping mechanism to deal with the stresses of life? ;)
I am extremely skilled at catching grammatical and spelling errors, and I am an excellent writer in general. I usually end up cursing editors when I read modern publications both online and in print, because quite frankly most of the time obvious blunders are missed and content has reached an all-time low for complexity and vocabulary! But I digress...
If you find that it would benefit you in some way to include me in the process of polishing your wordsmithing, let me know. I would be happy to participate oustide of Steem to support your family homestead. After all, we are practically neighbors!

I'm best at developmental editing and line editing. I do Copy edits to but it is always good to have a proofreader for polishing because the more times you read it the less you catch.

The book arrived. Basic editing is done, and I added notes where I thought changes needed to be made even if I wasn't sure what those changes needed to be. Alas, my red pen was dead, so I bled blue all over instead. There will be arrows pointing to the lines with smaller punctuation notes an the like. Hopefully I can mail the whole shebang back tomorrow.
