How does everyone get a image next to their post in the timeline

Ok so looking at the steemit time line (trending, hot and so on) I see everyone has an image then thier title and a short excerpt please tell me how that is done :)

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:
