The world's child mortality rate is lowest in Japan and highest in Pakistan. Death rates have decreased in Bangladesh. This information was disclosed in the annual report of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
Although 7,000 children die every day, child mortality in the whole world has decreased. Iceland is followed by Japan. Then there are countries like Singapore, Finland, Estonia, Slovenia, Cyprus, Belarus, Norway and North Korea.

According to UNICEF's report, one in every 111 people died in Japan. 1 in every 1,000 people in Isleland, 1 in 9 of 9 people in Singapore die. These countries are said to be safe for childbirth.

Despite the decline in child mortality across the world, this rate has increased in low-income countries. According to UNICEF, according to the survey for 2016, 2.6 million children in the world die every year, whose age is not fulfilled for one month.

Pakistan is at the top of the mortality rate. One in every 22 children died in the country. Then there are Africa (1 in every 24 people), war-torn Afghanistan (one in 25 people), Somalia, Lesto, Guinea, South Sudan (1 in 26 people), Ivory Coast (1 in 27 people) and Mali and Chad ( 1 in 28 people).

The 33-page report highlighted various factors including the causes of child mortality.

Japan's Kyodo News Agency, Japan's permanent representative Yasuhisa Qawmura quotes, the Japanese government is tackling these problems with great importance.

Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Masud Bin Momen told the Kyodo News that two-thirds of child deaths had decreased in Bangladesh. He said, in 1990, children were killed in the number of two lakh 41 thousand. But now the annual child mortality rate is 62 thousand.

He told the press agency that child mortality rate decreased as compared to previous year due to child health awareness across the country and special unit for children in 54 district hospitals.

Masud bin Momen also said that thousands of Rohingyas from Myanmar were pregnant who were able to give birth to children safely in Bangladesh.

We will call on UNICEF, to pay homage to the Rohingas.
