Hi there! 💖
Today I am going to show you how henna goes through different stages, and that is what is known as stain progression.
This is very important to know if you are a henna lover because this is how you can tell if you're getting 100% natural henna. In other previous posts I've mention that you should never getting henna that is chemically adulterated. I will leave some links below so you can read them and get further informed.
Anyways this is one of the henna pieces I've done last week for Kayla's Henna last week when we met! Usually I don't get stain pictures from others but since we are henna artists, we took many pics of our henna stains, and here's teh material I'm sharing with y'all.

Stain Progression

  • Day 1:

Henna recently applied. The color is a deep dark brown. The henna dries up after 15-20 minutes, it is recommended to leave the paste on anywhere from 2-12 hours (since the paste has sugar on, it sticks to the skin), and keep it away from water for better results, using coconut oil on the area of the henna design several times during the day will help keeping the henna away from water, and it is also a great skin moisturizer.

  • Day 2:

The henna stain will be orange, don't fret, that is completely normal, that is what natural henna does.
At this point you want to use a lot of coconut oil or any other veggie oil (olive, sunflower, avocado oil, shea butter ) through the day, and especially before your shower.

The henna stain is not mature yet.

* Day 3:

The henna stain will be notoriously darker, it will be a maroon/brown color and that is the final color. It lasts anywhere from 1-3 weeks and it fades off as your skin naturally exfoliates!

Fully matured henna stain.

I wish you enjoyed this post, if you have any questions about henna I am always happy to clear them out for you. My mission is to educate new henna artists in how to get nice and dark, long lasting henna stains, and to avoid the harsh chemicals that the greedy chemical henna industry has brought to the market.

Thank you for all the Upvotes, Comments & Re-Steems I really appreciate it!

I really loved the first picture. The color combination is superb.

Im glad you liked it @motorsteamer ! The technique of shading the henna with the aplicator cone creates a unique look! Thank you for commenting!

I liked the first shot with all the rich orange/browns behind it the most.
