Self rooted mint

in herb •  7 years ago

I made a decorative vase of flowers last week and decided to throw a mint stalk in to add some green... when the rest of the plants died I noticed this mint has developed roots and is actively growing in a deep water culture with no added oxygen or nutrients. I was pretty amazed... gonna see what she does!F4D5FC11-F21B-4563-9F4D-D6026882D79C.png 249617D8-9F1F-4001-9264-B7721EC55ED5.png86D2251F-D668-41D7-BB96-B0A0CFE9F2C8.png7BCB9BDD-7C7E-4B5C-8C09-46F1841F0B87.png

Mint is a very hardy plant once you get it going. Ive been starting it from seed which is a bit trickier since the seeds are the size of a pin head the seedlings can be small and fragile. Best to clone it I figure.

I re potted a mint plant that I got in the grocery store! It took a few days to snap back into gear but has been thriving since!

Great root shot🔥🙌
