As mentioned in my post from yesterday, I've adjusted all my auto-votes to vote after 4 or 5 minutes and it seems that it is paying off already! Just went through my outgoing votes on Steemworld, when I noticed that I'm earning a shit-ton of Steem Power per post now. The curation rewards on @fullcoverbetting's post above really takes the cake though, I'm earning more on that than my upvote was worth. I'm auto-voting him after 4 minutes by the way, instead of the supposed ideal voting time of 5 minutes.
Not weird when you know that author and curation rewards are nicely split in the middle at 50% each. Keep in mind that these types of curation rewards are now kinda the norm for me, the example above isn't that much of an outlier.
I'm by no means a whale, but I do have around 14,000 Steem Power at my disposal, which isn't actually that hard to get a hold off with current Steem prices. If you yourself have the means to make some investment into Steem, I'd say go for it!
I'm guessing that after some fine-tuning, I'll easily make around 6 - 8 Steem per day from curation rewards alone! These are just rough estimations, based on what I earned before (see image below).
I understand that some of you might not really like these changes all to much, especially if you don't have that much SP to play around with. Do keep in mind that larger accounts might now be more inclined to vote on your posts, because they stand to earn quite a lot by just voting.
I know I'm going to manually curate a lot more as soon as my VP allows it, that type of curation will mainly be reserved for posts of people I haven't interacted with in the past. It's extremely important for me that my votes go to as many people as possible!
So now its useless to upvote small accounts? Unless they get a high upvote which they rarely do.

Absolute waste of time mate. The whole point was to encourage quality posts and curators, now its turned from a bid botting game into an auto curation game.

I would suggest that you do increase the upvote to my posts to 100% :) But of course this only helps when I do use the ocdb service, which I will be using on around 75% of my posts.
Here is my own upvote on that post, voted after 5 minutes:
Mmh, after doing some more investigation, it looks I am earning shit with all my votes. I did think that HF21 would increase my curation rewards but by the looks of it, it turns them into dust!

You need to change your Steem node in your Steemworld settings ;) The Steem API worked best for me, then it will show the curation rewards after you refresh the page :D

Hi, can you just explain how anyone can make a profit using even the OCDB bot when the split is 50/50? I think I am possibly missing something but surely all you are doing is giving money to curators?

They just increase the value of the upvote. This way this can hand out lesser upvotes but they still can guarantee the profit.

It's looking good so far, I do quite like the drilling downability on steemworld;

To my shame I only started looking at it properly today when I kept seeing all these screen shots of pending curation rewards!

Oh you've definitely been missing out then! I'm using it for practically everything, especially now that Gina isn't showing everything.
Also a great tool for managing delegations btw.

That is pretty awesome. I hope that is true that the larger accounts will start to interact more with some of the smaller accounts. We have been needing something like that for quite some time now. I am guilty of it myself (getting comfortable in a pattern of upvoting). I hope these changes make a difference for those of us that have been plugging away through the good times and the bad.

Don't hold your breath man.. They will probably just do more elaborate circle jerking! LoL
That's all I see now, hence the reason I don't do "regular posts" anymore.. It's all about playing the game and if you don't have at least 20k SP you can't even get a seat the table in steemit.. Good thing DApps are more fair (at this point at least) or I'd have left steemit completely by now..
A $8 post of mine cashed out a few hours after the hardfork and i ended up with $3.47 and the curators got $4.21!? Why should they make more money than I did off of my hard work? That will definitely chase away old and new users alike..

Wow, that is pretty sad. My posts don't even come close to that lately so I will probably just be happy with what I can get. 20k SP is a pipe dream :)

Yeah, they said if you average over 20SP per post "you will make more rewards," if you make less then you are well fucked really LoL.. For isntance, my last post ($8USD aka 44SP total) wouldve netted me 26SP from the old model but I only got 19SP total under the new rules so I don't understand how that "should've netted me more"?!? More of the same old lies from steemit.inc....
This definitely doesn't make me want to invest my own hard earned money even though I have been on this platform for more than 2 years! So I honestly don't know why anyone else would with this new rewards model! Just like the real world, more money for the elites.

It will be better because all of the posts that were on trending will be downvoted so yours will have a chance to get there now. Then all the whales will more likely see your content so they will upvote you. Because they will now suddenly spend a ton of time manually curating. :)

and maybe I also need to review my delegations maybe I need to reduce them and give myself more voting power

Well I am glad you shared this because I manually curate. In the past I never really even paid any attention to what I received. Even now I am not going to change how I vote or for whom, but it is nice to know it is working. I only hope more folks will start to buy and hold SP.
