Hey! Have Ya Met...? Anniversary Contest June 1, 2019

Many of you might recognize me from the Steemit profile image, or a couple of goofy writings that I have come up with, or my tribute to one of the greatest artists in the biker's world, Dave Mann. A few of you might recognize me from the profile image in the various Discord servers such as SteemTerminal with @xcountytravelers, @brittandjosie, @thekittygirl, @brisby, @wesphilbin, and @medro-martin and the @heyhaveyamet team where I try to help greet the Steemians who decide that they would like to get informed about Steem and/or Steemit and sometimes I might venture forth an answer, or The Ramble with @shadowspub and @thekittygirl for Pimp Your Post Thursday, or once in a great while I manage to show up in the Alliance Castle with @enginewitty (witness) for some naughty fun. (Turns out he really does know Jack!) I just thought that I might throw my two cents in here, just for fun.

Here's my account of what has been happening since engaging with the Hey! Have Ya Met...? team. I not only get the chance to read some of the most interesting pieces of writings that there are, and some of them are extraordinarily unique and downright fascinating, but there are a lot of them that I learn something new from as well. And one of the best things is that these Steemians, fresh and new and each with their own perspectives, are coming in from all over the world and that just adds the salt to the flavor of the posts and therefore benefitting Steemit.

But there are far more benefits to me personally, because:
  1. I get to meet far more Steemians, as I don't have time to sit down and go through the introduceyourself tag,
  2. every one of these new Steemians is different, there are language and customs differences galore and extremely interesting,
  3. one more benefit is that we are adding someone to follow and watch them grow, just like planting a seed,
  4. a lot of them are already producing really outstanding quality content before they've even started, and continue on with excellent content.
  5. and I also get to work with an outstanding crew that really does have compassion and wisdom and lots of patience and that long-term endurance.

So in keeping this from putting anyone to sleep, I will close and leave you, the reader, with this thought: There needs to be more new Steemians who are wise to the ways here, and care about the course this place is going to go, because if it sits still, it will stagnate.

These new people are going to be the ones who are going to carry this forward, and will enough of them be wise enough to do this?
Places like heyhaveyamet helps get these new Steemians more exposure, and helps them in the Steem Terminal, and along with @bluefinstudios and @shadowspub in the Welcome Wagon, @darkhorse and @wolfhart, at Pay It Forward, and @jaynie at Power House Creatives, all provide the incentive, education and the skills necessary to make this place a lot more worthwhile.

Before anyone gets their tail feathers in a ruffle, or their scales all messed up (hehehe @swedishdragon) there is no way that I can name all of the people that help these communities thrive, so if I have forgotten or missed some, it might be a consolation that I have even forgotten myself and now I'm annoyed that I forgot not only myself, but all those that help from backstage.

With that, have an awesome morning, afternoon, or evening no matter where you are at on this Planet Earth.

Hello @jamerussell your post is nice, I like that you have the way to use your words as if it were a conversation instead of a story, that makes it look cool and warm at the same time, certainly not all of us have the gift of writing and I say it for me but you really have stood out in this wonderful publication, well done!
See you on the terminal Steem server and thank you very much for being part of the team that gives me support and for the warm welcome in the Discord.
Note: I hope this translation is satisfactory.

I like your bike 😍

A little faster than the blue one, right @waheedvikee?

I hope i can purchase one

Posted using Partiko Android

What, like the blue one @waheedvikee? Hehehe!
I don't know what kind of bike you can buy over there, as Harley's are a major cost factor.

I can't afford Harley 😅

Getting your scales in a twist sounds painful.

Hi @viking-ventures!!!
How goes it?

Traveling at the moment, but doing well. How about you?

Getting ready to make a post and comment on yesterday's.
Be safe wherever you are headed...

You have noo clue O.o or gotting them back in order, thats why it just happends once every third decenium ;)
Hiiii, nice to meet you :D

I'm glad it's not a frequent occurrence, anyway.
Good to meet you too. Are you in Sweden or have ancestry?
I'm half Viking by ancestry. Which country, you ask? Yes, I reply.

actually, so am i ;) but then in over all, i dont spass much in anyyy form :P
Im living in sweden yes, but im also canadian & Norweadian , but not by birth right.
Viking now your screen name makes sence :D ha ha loove that, as vikings traveld looots ;)

lol - yep. My Norwegian and Danish ancestors came to the US in the late 1800s. My Swedes were a little later in the early 1900s. My grandmother's family was from Skåne and Blekinge. That's also where our one (so far) stray Finn turned up in 1700, though I cannot figure out where he was before then yet.

I've not managed to visit yet though - except Iceland. But no known ancestors there.

aw you really checked your history, how fantastick :D Danish to? they if i dont get my history wrong, were great sailors :)
Woohoo i lived in Skåne whne i was young :D
Oh, il bet you will get that info about him, later?
Aw you shuld, skåne is priceless :D

Family history/genealogy has long been an interest in my family, so yes, we've learned a lot. Most of my Scandinavian ancestors were fishermen and/or farmers. My one Finn drowned, while he was still quite young, so that may be one of the reasons his origins are difficult to trace. I've seen at least six possible people on the Finland side, but his surnames are very clearly Swedish, so there's quite a story to unravel if we can.

Thankfully, I can read enough Swedish to get through a lot of the records once I can decipher their handwriting.

I'll try to do another genealogy post, perhaps, this weekend and you can see some of what I've been working on.

god am i the rudest person effer :( i never upv this hun.. im soo sorry :/
<dances down & do double bounce full tilt on this

You are not alone in not upvoting much...
With most of us having very low votes still, I think most spend more effort commenting than upvoting. It's nice though - such great people around Steem.

Oh sorry my bad, im a heavy weight voter ;) LOl i cover around 25-49 per day LOL I think i got distracted then just moved on..
I agree -suuuper peeps around here :D
Hm experience is -more voters then comenting...

Yeah, I saw your heavy weight status.. sometime after I commented, of course. Of course if the goalpost didn't keep being reset... The first time I hit 0.02 was at 80 SP... lol. I've occasionally hit 0.03 and think I saw 0.04 back in August briefly when I first became a minnow. But yeah, 0.02 is pretty much it for me still.

Of course, I can't complain too much. I haven't invested any hard currency into any of my blockchain accounts - just lots of time and effort. Given that, I'm pretty proud of what I've achieved - including fortnightly curies. :-)

See what you think of my writing when you get a chance. I'm about to wrap up the current story though - next one starts on the 15th or 16th, I think.

He he i kind of guessed that, i got wayyyy confused by it to 😂😉 i miss reputation😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
Wow 0.02 with 80sp? Now that was a good day😝
0.04 was August i hade a feald day then lol
Na i invest by curations😉😉😝 i see that finance the best to work my act👍🏻😀
Yes i agree it takes a big chunk of time; sure i can let my act work for it self but im waiting for the orca titel before i satt that fully😁
You should be, your stats are nice; weldone👍🏻😀💗
On il take a looks; now i must see were we at HF21🤫🙄😖😖

Yeah, I think everyone would be afraid of an HF21 given the fiasco 20 was... Is it already scheduled then?

No date yet @viking-ventures...

he eh yeah that one twiiirled our nobs a bit ;) By the info, hf21 will be ok EX 50/50 author/curators... hell im not giving away 5sbd for free dang IT, BUUT the cuartor in me, yells YEAH bring it ;)
Its going to happen, thats the date i have ;) ...

50/50 author/curators may just kill the platform.
