These days when I hear the word Silicon and heist, I half expected this to be about some smart ass startup chap on the West Coast. But I loved this story, not least because the thieves started thinking of it as a complete business, forgetting how they got the stuff.
"Buzzing from their entrepreneurial success, the thieves began to act as if their operation was a legitimate startup, which they named Southeastern Two. They purchased an aluminum-sided, one-story commercial building in the town of Robertsdale, 26 miles southeast of Mobile, to serve as their company’s headquarters. They also quibbled with Syed over expenses such as stretch wrap and shipping pallets, coordinated logistics with freight companies, and fielded business inquiries at [email protected]."
