Highest Railway Station in India- GHUM Train Station, Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR)

Ghum train station is the highest railway station in West Bengal, India. The highest location is Darjeeling and The station in stay the top of the Darjeeling hill. The name of the station is Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR).

Its Dec 02, 2013 date, Me and some of my friend make a place tour Darjeeling, West Bengal, India.
First we go kolkata than Kolkata to Darjeeling by train. Really this is nice journey with my friends.
The way of the tour we stay some moments in the highest railway station of India, Ghum. Its one of the historical place of Darjeeling. There is a Museum name Ghum Museum where you can find the all history about the station.


Its take 14-16 hours for go Kolkata to Darjeeling. First you need to kolkata to New Jalpaiguri by train and its take 10 hours. Than you can go New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling which take 3-4 hours by road and 6-7 hours by train, you reach the Ghum station by train and watch the beauty of Darjeeling hill views.

Finally want to say that Darjeeling is one of the most popular tourist place in India. Many wonderful location which looking great. Ghum railway station just one of them. We feel thriller when going up and up by hillside. Its really excellent experience. I recommend all tourist person and friends if you have time than must go the amazing Darjeeling city.
