Drove into Tampa from Atlanta, today. Gassed up the Hyundai once. Meter said, less than 400 miles. The roundtrip's been 1,000 miles since I moved there 1995.
Today I got to the Bearss exit north of USF with a hundred miles of gas to spare. Tampa to Atlanta's never been less than 500 miles. Hyundai's got an algorithm.
Last point. South of Gainesville (UF) billboards said, 26 miles between Tampa and Saint Petersburg. Except for plate techtonics, they've always been the same distance apart. Again by the time I reached Bearss, they were 15 miles apart. Highway 75's got an algorithm.
It's not perfect, because 75's not a straight line; but the highway's tangent to the path between Tampa and Atlanta. I think it's got something to do with trigonometry.
I really like your style @tskeene. Do you have books in amazon?
