Hiking around the world, Switzerland – Zermatt (5-Seenweg)

in hike •  7 years ago

Today’s hike is located once again in the town of Zermatt. Like I said in my previous post the town of Zermatt is a special place and has a multitude of trails to try. The one I will share with you today is called 5-Seenweg or known as the five lakes walk. This was a relatively easy trail that was mainly flat and walked you around the mountains opposite of the Matterhorn. To get this trail we took the rail car up to the top of the ski lift and it puts you right at the start of the hike.

The trail listed the hike as taking 2.4 hours however, we completed it in under an hour an a half as the light terrain made it easy to hike. The views were stunning and got a lot of great pictures of the mountains back dropped by the crystal blue water.

As you walk on the trail, it is lined with beautiful trees some of which were amazing and worthy of a picture.

No matter where you are on this hike, you can see amazing views and take spectacular pictures. This hike is great for all ages and skill levels as it offers a lot for minimal effort. While this was not one of my favorite hikes, this was still a great one and enjoyed what the trail had to offer me.

Wow look beautiful! Did you try getting in the water?

No I tried dipping my hand in to test it and it was freezing. I traveled there in the spring so it was still quite cold outside.

Love the mountains that can be seen. Thanks for the post :)
