This is a favorite past time of mine to hike on local trails.
It helps me feel alive when I exercise even though its just walking.
It definitely feels better than staring at my smartphone for half a day.
When I go hiking in Salinas I occasionally see a vulture, wild rabbits, and hawks.
The trail I frequented was dry most of the year with chaparral, oak and manzanita.
On this trail there was big ruts where the rain washed out parts of the trail.
The sun usually was glaring even on foggy days.
Once I reached to the top of this particular trail I can see Salinas valley and Monterey Bay.
Monterey Bay on sunny days looks very blue with white foam and you can see all the way to Santa Cruz from this trail.
Highway 68 is very tiny looking like a residential road but not a highway.
