Christopher Wallace is arguably one of the most Iconic rappers ever to grace the stage. He gives Brooklyn Natives a reason to be extra proud of being from Brooklyn. Born on May 21, 1972 to Voletta Wallace in St. Mary's hospital in Brooklyn and he grew up to be one of the best rappers to ever live this green Earth.
How-Did-Biggie-Smalls-Die.jpg
I was living in Brooklyn during the infamous East Coast West Coast war. I remember the streets were electric and tense. Everyone was on edge. Than Tupac was killed in Las Vegas. This sent shock waves through the rap community. How could someone have gotten to him. Quickly rumors began to spread saying Biggie was involved in Tupac's death. I guess everyone just assumed he was involved.

Gang violence erupted in New York City and it was the first time I realized thay gangs existed. The infamous Blood's began to grip the streets slashing innocent people for wearing red or just simple a gang initiation. 96'-97' was probably the craziest time of my life. It soon became normal to hear about another victim getting slashed in the face or how we called it in the streets "a buck fifty"(named for the amount of stitched a victim would need after getting slashed. I distinctly remember having to protect my younger sister from a group of female Blood gang memeber. They wanted to attack her because she had a red umbrella. Like I said the streets were seriously insane.

Than Biggie went to Cali😟

Against the wishes of his friends and family Biggie decided to go to California. He went to promote his upcoming album "Life after Death" and attend The Soul Train Awards. He did a radio interview and even presented Toni Braxton with an award at the award show. After the show he left with his entourage to go to a afterparty and that is when he met his untimely death.

The streets of Brooklyn went wild. Emotions were running high everywhere. Than the day of the funeral was more like a parade. It was insane!!!!! I'm pretty sure most of you have seen the footage of whast happened that day.

RIP Notorious biggie, your raps liveth forever

Excellent post you have published @mrviquez as a great tribute to Christopher Wallace, a real legend rapper from New York City and he´s an artist that represents the whole Brooklyn. What do you like the most of his songs? Best regards from @presentnworldsc.

One of the Gods in the game. If you have music I resteem it for free when tagging #boombox

Gang wars also happen here by me, but in a suburb that's far away from where I live, luckily. I can only imagine how it was in that time in USA.
It's a shame that such great artists get taken way before their time.
