And now we move on to bboy pioneer, non other than Bboy Ken Swift or most of us will called him Prince Ken swift. Bboy Ken Swift represent ROCK STEADY CREW and after that he form another crew which called 7 GEMS and this crew also pioneer to bboy history. But at last 7 Gems is run by Ken swift himself and become a movement to make bboy stay real and stay true to history.
Ken Swift also considered as “The Epitome of a Bboy” because he is contributing a lot to spread bboy worldwide and also Ken Swift, this culture is become a mainstream culture that everyone know.
Because his contribution, he is awarded as living hip hop legend in 2015. Here is the clip:
Even tough now he is quite old, but he still pursue his passion to bring this culture to another level.

Next, Ken Swift is very specific in hoping everyone understand what is breaking. Especially what is the fundamental of breaking.
As Ken Swift been interviewed in a event in Russia, he mentioned that footwork is the core in bboy, the fundamental of breaking, without footwork, it never a breaking or bboy.
Breaking is very particular that from toprock to footwork to air move or power move is the full terminology and content in breaking, nothing can be apart. If everything is apart, that is not a breaking.
Just like if you do toprock and not get down to floor, its not toprock, its just a top dance or top style.
As Ken Swift said, in old days, everything start from rocking freestyle. Rocking freestyle is the start from the legend at 60-70's and if we throw out the rocking freestyle and doing something else, its just disrespectful to legend, and offensive to hip hop history.
So we should never apart the form of breaking to single part because this is full form of breaking and when apart everything it will be meaningless.
Just like when everybody say about toprock, thats mean you will breaking after toprock, it is all related in one. If you only doing toprock, that just another dance style.

For me, Ken Swift really a true legend that hoping to keep hip hop is true to the root and history. I am happy to meet him once before at Taiwan and learn from him. And now I still very excited to see him dance.
