This is the Hipster Sheriff. He has got a nice beard and a pair of stud earrings I guess that is the reason for his being a hipster right? Hahaha. Very fun idea and art to create inspired by the original post of @doze. If you look at that drawing it is mainly a line drawing using a brush that looks blotchy but that is the technique in creating a nice character like this sheriff here. Looks easy and simple but in reality this is hard to pull off.
So how did I make my sheriff?
I made a draft using pencil on a scrap of paper. I want to be sure the shape of the sheriff I got right. The proportion of the eyes and ears including that beard. If I get them right then maybe my drawing will look as good as the original which you can find here
Next is I inked it with a black permanent ink marker. From here I can already tell that I missed creating those rough and blotchy lines like the original. I am using a marker so I am not sure if I can recreate those lines. Too bad those lines gave the original drawing that certain quality.
Coloring the drawing using washable colored pens. I used three shades of yellow to give some depth to my drawing. Unlike the original I put the yellow color on the character and not on the background.
