This has always been a problem with Trump, but I sort of expected it to diminish after you know he tried to overturn the election.

A big reason Trump's worst impulses were not realized was not because he actually wasn't serious. It was because other people stopped him.

There was a lot going on at the end of Trump's first term, so you can be forgiven for not knowing that a bunch of his Administration resigned in the final weeks amidst all his efforts to overturn the election.

When Trump tried to get the DOJ to boost his election fraud claims he was going to make a Trump loyalist the Attorney General. The DOJ leadership threatened mass resignations.

Those other people aren't going to be around in a second Trump presidency. The whole point of Project 2025 is to use Schedule F to purge the civil service and replace government employees with Trump loyalists.

They have screening processes for his next Admin and have used freedom of information act requests to gather information about current government workers for their purge.

JD Vance has said he wouldn't have certified the 2020 election results. There won't be a Mike Pence this time.
