Pinisi is sailing ship traditional owned Indonesia, from bugis of South Sulawesi. this ship has two poles main screen and seven screen, the three in the front end, the two on the front, and two again in the back of the ship. seven strands screen has the meaning that the ancestors Indonesian nation can navigate the seven Ocean large in the world. pinisi or sometimes written phinisi for centuries has wading sea to the Malacca, Burma, Vietnam, and Australia.

People bugis are recognized expert to make the ship and is the sailors tough. ship pinisi has brought them to sail territories is much in the archipelago, and even many of them were subsequently settled in Java, Kalimantan, Sumatra, Papua, and Islands Nusa Tenggara. bugis not only a respected for experts fishing but also very feared as Pirates.
