THE ORIGIN OF THE ACEH COFFEE

Aceh coffee comes from the Netherlands brought by a businessman in the century XVII Netherlands via Batavia (now Jakarta) and then get into the Acehnese. The first coffee is coffee Arabica type was introduced which later developed more diverse types.

Coffee in the world, can be distinguished into two groups based on type, i.e. coffee Arabica and Robusta coffee. In the second type of Aceh coffee is cultivated by local people. Coffee Arabica types commonly cultivated in the region of the Highlands, including the Gayo lands of Takengon, Aceh's Gayo Lues Regency, and Southeast. Meanwhile in Pidie (predominantly Tangse and Geumpang) and Aceh Barat, the public preferred to develop coffee Robusta type.

ASAL USUL KOPI ACEH.

Kopi Aceh berasal dari Belanda yang dibawa oleh seorang pengusaha Belanda pada abad XVII melalui Batavia (sekarang Jakarta) lalu masuk ke Aceh. Kopi yang pertama sekali diperkenalkan adalah kopi jenis Arabica yang kemudian berkembang dengan jenis yang makin beragam.
Di dunia, kopi bisa dibedakan menjadi 2 kelompok berdasarkan jenisnya, yaitu kopi Arabica dan kopi Robusta. Di Aceh kedua jenis kopi ini dibudidayakan oleh masyarakat setempat. Kopi jenis Arabica umumnya dibudidayakan di wilayah dataran tinggi Tanah Gayo, termasuk Takengon, Aceh Tenggara, dan Gayo Lues. Sedangkan di Kabupaten Pidie (terutama wilayah Tangse dan Geumpang) dan Aceh Barat, masyarakat lebih menyukai mengembangkan kopi jenis Robusta.
