La Masonería ha sido definida y concebida por quienes la conocemos, la vivimos y principalmente por respetables historiadores que se han dedicado a su estudio como una ciencia moral, velada por alegorías y representada por medio de símbolos. El uso de signos representativos de realidades abstractas, ha acompañado a la humanidad durante toda su historia. Aun en la época actual de predominio científico y de grandes avances tecnológicos, el signo y el símbolo tienen una importancia vital. Estos son y debemos procurar que así sea siempre, un vehículo efectivo de investigación, comunicación, aprendizaje y búsqueda.
