Yesterday - August 1st - marked the 77th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising that took place near the end of World War II.

It began with the Polish Home Army rising up against the Germans just as the Soviet Red Army approached.

Witold Pilecki was one of the great unsung heroes of the Warsaw Uprising, whose legacy was buried by Soviet Russia.
