The coins were put into circulation at the very beginning of the reign of Empress Catherine II. A lot of ore was found at the Kolyvan deposit. Silver and gold were mined from this ore, and copper, which was obtained as a by-product after smelting, was decided to be used for minting copper coins.
Officially, the territory of circulation was limited only to the territory of the Siberian province, but today coins are found in the ground both in the Trans-Urals and in the Urals, and in a decent amount.
Minting began in 1766. The coin was in circulation until Kamchatka, and was not recognized in the European part of Russia.

да у нас частенько попадаются. Вот есть у меня сибирский гривенник 1766 года с гуртовой надписью, вот это раритет. А всего сибирских монет разного номинала - около 30 штук точно есть.
