Dyatlov expedition stays as one of the most mysterious tragedy of soviet union. On October 1959, 10 students of Sverdlokovsk politechnic university went on an expedition with Igor
Dyatlov being their guide. They went to North Ural mountains. Zynaida Kolmogorova, Igor Dyatlov, Rustem Slobodin, Yuri Doroshenko, Georgy Krivonischenko, Nicolai Brignolles, Lyudmila Dubinina, Alexander Kolevatov, Alexander Zolotaryo and Yuri Yudin also said goodbye to their families. If only they knew that it was the last time seeing their relatives except one of the members.
Yuri felt sick along the way and decided to return back becoming the only member of the expedition who survived.
Their expedition was going pretty well at first. One of the members of the crew had a diary. it contained detailed descripiton of their journey in the wildlands.
After 1 week, the families of the students decided to send search groups because they were worried about the mysterious disappeareance of the young people.
Soon a huge scale search operation began in Ural mountains.
Unfortunately all of them were found dead in the most unusual circumstances.
Experts declared that they had about 64 versions of cause of death. According to one of them, the fatalities resulted from hallucinoges, which was given to students by
people, a tribe that lived in in the north. Society also blamed aliens for the accident. Theories about the Yeti was also discussed. Other option was Millitary Operations.
unbeknownst to them, students became the witnesses of a secret experiment and in order to hide the truth, they were murdered. This therory was the most appropriate, yet
it couldn,t solve the mistery of mangled bodies. Parents of the deceased commented that the case wasn't solved because goverment didn't want to disclose any actual
facts revolving around the expedition or their secret experiment.
Part of the journalists blamed avalanches and natural causes. The given explenation was denied because not one of the tents was damaged.
The whole Russian mourned dead students on Februrary 2.
Thousands attented their funeral. Everyone hoped that the facts would come to light once and for all, but it
remains unsolved even up until this very day.
