Based on the news of Marcopolo (th 1292) and Ibn Batutah (13th century). In 1267 the first Islamic kingdom was established in Indonesia, the Samudra Pasai kingdom. This is also evidenced by the tomb tomb of Sultan Malik al-Saleh (th 1297) the first King of the Ocean King.


Samudra Pasai Sultanate, also known as Samudera, Pasai, or Samudra Darussalam, an Islamic kingdom located on the northern coast of Sumatra, more or less around the city of Lhokseumawe, North Aceh now. The kingdom of Samudra Pasai was founded around the 13th century by Nazimuddin Al Kamil, an Egyptian sea admiral. In 1283, Pasai was conquered, then lifted Angry Pasai Silu to become the first King with the title Sultan Malik al-Saleh (1285-1297). The tomb of Tri Nahrasyiah from Ibn Battuta, a famous Muslim traveler from Morocco, recorded something very impressive for him while visiting an empire on the east coast of Sumatra around 1345 AD. After sailing for 25 days from Barhnakar (now entering Myanmar), Battuta landed in a very fertile place. Trade in this area is very developed, marked by the use of gold currency. He was even more amazed because when he reached the city he found a very beautiful city surrounded by wooden walls and towers.
