From ancestors, kids expect to find sweets and fruits in the morning of December 6th. For this, they prepare their shoes for the evening and hope that Mos Nicolae will forget the moments in which they were not good, because the disobedient little ones receive a niggle.

The legend of Mos Nicolae: From the holy to the daring and unseen
Where did the custom of gifts associated with the celebration of Saint Nicholas start? The legend of Mos Nicolae says that Saint Nicholas helped three poor girls from his town, bringing them dowry at night, without being seen. The house where the three sisters lived was very poor. Their father planned to sell their girls to enrich themselves. The old man was not induced by the tears and pain of the daughters, but St. Nicholas learned of the misfortune that was going on and came to their aid. At night, on the heel, he threw a bag full of yellow in the biggest girl's room.
So she managed to get married soon. She did the same in the next two years, and her middle-sized sister and then the little sister managed to settle down to their homes. His father decided, however, that before the marriage marriage, Nicolae would watch him at night. He saw him when he climbed the roof of the house this time and let go of a bag to the basket. Since then, the legend of Mos Nicholas says that it never shows up, as Santa does, but does not forget to reward the good children and bring them to the disobedience of the disobedient.
