Seven Wonders of The Ancient World

Hi Steemit Family! I hope all the family members will be good. This is @cryptophilic here with a new post named "The Seven Wonders of The Ancient World". I hope you guys will like my post.
The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World is a list of remarkable constructions of classical antiquity given by the different authors. “Antipater of Sidon” compiled the list of seven wonders of the world. There is the list of the seven ancient wonders of the world.
• Great Pyramids of Giza
• Hanging Gardens of Babylon
• Temple of Artemis
• Statue of Zeus at Olympia
• Mausoleum at Helicarnassus
• Colossus of Rhodes
• Lighthouse of Alexandria

Great Pyramids Of Giza:

Egyptologists believe that pyramid is built as the tomb of the “Fourth Dynasity Egyptian”. It was constructed in the 20 years. Hemiunu who is also known as “Hemon” is considered the constructor of the “Great Pyramid”. It is the thinking of the people that the construction of “Great Pyramid was 280 Egyptian Royal cubits tall in simple it is 146 meters or 480 feet. The present hight of Great Pyramid is 138.8 meters or 455.4 feet. The Great Pyramids were situated in Egypt.

Hanging Gardens Of Babylon:

The Hanging Garden of Babylon is known as one of the Seven Wonders. The Hanging Gardens are described as fabulous feat of engineers with ascending series of tiered gardens which were containing different varieties of vines, trees and shrubs. The gardens were called a large green mountain which is constructed of bricks of mud. It is the only wonder of the world whose location is not determined. Traditionally we say that these were built in the ancient city of Babylon in Present Turkey.

Temple of Artemis:

The Temple of Artemis also known as the Temple of Diana, was a Greek Temple which was dedicated to the Artemis goddess. It was located in Ephesus present Turkey. It was rebuilt three times before its complete destruction. It was finally destructed in 401 AD. In the 7th century BC, the temple was destroyed due to flood. Its reconstruction was completed in 550 BC. The temple was again destroyed in 356 BC. It was again rebuilt, this time as a wonder.

Statue of Zeus at Olympia:

The Statue of Zeus at Olympia was a figure of giant seated which was about 13 m or 43 ft tall. It was made by the sculptor of Greek named “Phidias” in around 435 BC. It was made at the sanctuary of Olympia. It is the one of the seven wonder of the ancient world. It was destroyed and lost in the 5th century. Its details are known only from ancient Greek descriptions and the representation of coins.

Mausoleum at Helicarnassus:

The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus is also known as “Tomb of Mausolus”. It was constructed between 350 and 353 BC at Halicarnassus which is present Turkey. The structure of the Mausoleum was designed by the Greek Architects “Satyors” and “Pythius. The hight of Mausoleum was approximately 45 meters or 148 feet in height. The cause of its destruction was the successive earthquakes from the 12th to the 15th century. It was the last surviving wonder of the six destroyed wonders.

Colossus of Rhodes:

The Colossus of Rhodes was the statue of the Greek titan-god of the sun Helios. It was erected in the city Rhodes. It is the one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. It was constructed to celebrate the victory of Rhodes against the ruler Cyprus. According to the most contemporary descriptions the Colossus was 33 meters or 108 feet was in height. Its height made it the tallest statue of the ancient time. It was destructed during the earthquakes of 226 BC. Its parts were collected and preserved but it was never built again.

Light House of Alexandria:

The Lighthouse of Alexandria is also known as the “Pharos of Alexandria”. The lighthouse was built between 247 and 280 BC by the Ptolemaic Kingdom. It was known as the tallest man-made structure in the world. It was the 3rd longest surviving wonder. It was destroyed by the earthquakes between 956 and 1323 AD.
