Canada Postage Stamps

The Large Queen Dominion of Canada series of stamps was issued from 1868-1876. The fourth stamp in this series is the 2 Cent Queen Victoria. It came in 4 shades: Green, Deep Green, Emerald Green, and Blue Green. 10,300,000 were ordered. In very fine mint condition, it is valued at $1,400 ($1,100 US).

Next Up is the 3 cent Queen Victoria. It came in 3 shades: Red, Orange Red, and Rose Red. 22,000,000 were ordered. In very fine mint shape, it can fetch as much as $2,500 ($2,000 US).

3 Cent Queen Victoria

The 5 Cent Queen Victoria came in 2 shades: Olive Green and Deep Olive Green. It is unclear as to how many were ordered. In very fine mint condition, the stamp is valued as high as $2,500 ($2,000 US).

These stamps were used 130 years ago!

I can’t believe stamps have this much value! How liquid is this market?

That’s the thing. Not as liquid as our silver. Although stamps are nice and interesting to look at, they just don’t compare to silver and gold!

They are really interesting especially the ones that are super rare! It reminds me of looking in the old coin collecting books!

Honestly as a millennial, I'm not familiar of these stamps. Thank you @daveks for sharing these historical things. These makes me wonder how people those days live their lives.
