One of the hidden architectural gems of Indiana is the West Baden Springs Hotel. It is now a national historic landmark renowned for its large (200 foot) dome covering the hotel's atrium, built in 1902. The history of the hotel is described in this Wikipedia article:

It was restored to its current splendor by the Cook Group. We visit the hotel frequently and I am pleased to share some of my photographs of the hotel taken over the last decade since restoration. It is particularly attractive at this time of year when the Christmas tree is displayed in the center of the atrium:
The dome is illuminated at night, with colors transitioning from red to blue to green and purple:
The atrium is a magnificent space for relaxation:
Very cool! I live in Indianapolis, Indiana and I have a lot of family in Southern Indiana. I've been here to West Baden and had some good times. I definitely recommend everyone who visits Indiana to stay a night here.
