By the fifteenth century AD, the farming Bakongo humans (ba being the plural prefix) were unified as the Kingdom of Kongo beneath a ruler referred to as the manikongo, dwelling in the fertile Pool Malebo region on the decrease Congo River.

The capital was M'banza-Kongo. With most fulfilling organization, they were capable to triumph over their neighbors and extract tribute.
