The Evolution of the Philippine Banknote

See this 20 Peso Banknote here? This is an old banknote and now is already out of the circulation and demonetized in the Philippines. I'm keeping this old 20 Peso bill as a remembrance of the past and to show my grand children in the future of what the old banknote looks like.

Speaking about banknotes

The Philippine Banknote was first issued by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (Central Bank of the Philippines) were the victory CBP overprints of older american-era banknotes. The first official banknote series to be printed were the english series back in 1951.

The Banknotes of the Philippine peso are issued by the Central Bank of the Philippines (Banko Central ng Pilipinas) for circulation in the Philippines

The smallest amount of legal tender in wide circulation is 20 Pesos and the largest is 1000 Pesos.

In the front side of the banknote features prominent people along with buildings and events in the country's history while the reverse side depicts landmarks and animals (Todays modern banknote in the Philippines features World Heritage Sites and National Parks).

The Improvements on Philippine Currency.
While the design speaks for history, security measures also added to its features. The banknote is made of Cotton and Abacca.
