So Columbus Ohio is utterly controlled by a corrupt democratic party that has city council people step down before re-election so the crooked Democratic Party can appoint members to council so these tyrants get illegitimate "incumbent advantages" in their first election to council. Council persons appointed to City Council get to claim experience and receive free "earned media" from the corporate media oligarchs who control the electioneered Columbus City Council, Ohio General Assembly and the elected Supreme court of Ohio.

Today a group that was trying to make a ward system to make city council races more competitive after sourcing I think I heard 42k signatures to even place their proposal on the ballot was denied access to elections for petitioning government for redress of grievances.

At least for the past half decade the crooked Ohio Democratic Party and its shills on Columbus City Council have been pulling this anti-democratic nonsense, first by preventing the Relator Jonathan Beard from putting a campaign finance charter on the ballot many years ago. Beard finally challenged such nonsense to the Supreme Court of Ohio. Below is an idea from one of the judicial bureaucrats about why he felt people in Columbus should not have access to a single petition for the transaction costs of even having a vote on a proposed alternate.

Relators do not argue that council lacks the authority to exclude the proposal from the ballot; instead, relators simply argue that council’s determination was incorrect. I write to make clear that because relators have not challenged council’s authority to decide the one-proposal question, this court has not decided in this case whether council had that authority. See Sizemore v. Smith, 6 Ohio St.3d 330, 333, 453 N.E.2d 632 (1983), fn. 2 (“It has long been the policy of this court not to address issues not raised by the parties”).

I wonder what would have happened if that issue had been challenged?
