The Memorial Verdun is a war memorial located just a few hundred meters from the destroyed village Fleury (Episode 7). It was built in the 1960s, financed by Maurice Genevoix. It has been open to the public since September 17th, 1967. The memorial remembers the French and German soldiers as well as the civilian populations lost during the Battle of Verdun.

These photos are just a tiny part of the museum. There are 3 floors full of history and it is definitely worth visiting. I will visit this place again one day for sure!
