St John Knights is the co-nomic name of Ordo Hospitalis Sancti Johannis Hierosolymitani which was founded in the 12th century under the First Crusade. The Order dates back to the 11th century (1113)with the establishment of Amalfian merchants in Jerusalem and the subsequent establishment of hotel-hospitals in the Holy Land. Like the Nazis, he took over the First Crusade and military beyond his medical role, with primary responsibility for the care of the sick pilgrims in the Battalion hospitals and then the war against the Saracens.

The Order acted in the Holy Land until the crusading of the crusading states and then settled in Rhodes (1309). The fall of the Templars (1314) was one of the factors that strengthened the St John Knights, who developed into a naval force and advocates of Christianity towards the Ottomans. In Rhodes, the Order successfully resisted the siege of Muhammad B and remained there until 1523 when it was expelled from the Ottomans. In 1530 it settled in Malta. Among the top moments of the Order was the defeat of the Ottoman attack in 1565 and his participation in the naval battle of Nafpaktos in 1571.
