The biggest gate in Africa
There is Al-Mansour Al-Laj gate in Meknes, which overlooks Hadim Square. Founded by Mawla Ismail, completed by his son Moulay Abdulla around 1732 AD. The door is large and has an opening of 8 meters, it is also decorated with beautiful carved patterns on porcelain and multicolored mosaics.
Bab Mansour El-Elj is located on Hadim Square, east of the Old City. It is one of the largest gates of the Kasbah of Ismailia, founded by Sultan Moulay Ismail in the late seventeenth century, and then renewed by his son Sultan Moulay Abdallah 1144 AH adornment (1732 AD).
