For my first post I will merely quote from an historic figure. The meaning of the quote is as timely as ever and possibly more so today when more information is available to more people than at any other time in history. We are stuffed with information but I question the value of the distraction of information overload that prevents us from investigating and understanding. We have become spewers of factoids and soundbites that do not serve us well.
“Those who expect to be both ignorant and free, expect what never was and never will be.” Thomas Jefferson
There is afloat in the "Land of the Free" a movement to discredit the founders of that new Nation State. The smearing and trivializing is done through a filter of assumptions and modern mind control methods. The masses are programmed to respond to the trigger phrases without careful examination. The phrase "Who cares what a bunch of old dead white guys thought a couple of hundred years ago?" has becoming a mantra to induce people to not investigate the relevancy of history in today's world. The Laws of the Land have been subverted and diminished to the point of near irrelevancy in all but lip service to an ideal without a knowledgeable foundation.
