Gestapo headquarters targeted in Norway

German Nazi Police attacked

September 25, 1943 marked the day in World War 2 when British bombers attempted to take out the local headquarters of the German secret state police, the Gestapo, in Norway. They failed though. Germany invaded Norway in a Blitzkrieg campaign April 1940. It took the Germans only one month to chase out British and French troops as well as Norway’s royal family.

The attacked Gestapo office was not hit with the British bombs but surrounding buildings were hit. At least the Brits put a scare into the Nazis. 4 people died.
